The City that Fun Forgot
And quel surprise! Dish is talking about Ottawa. In a move reminiscent of Footloose (or, if you prefer, Foot Louis), the National Capital Commission, the body that organizes Ottawa’s Winterlude, has decided to cancel all of the outdoor concerts associated with the festival this year. Next they will be banning rock music and dancing completely!The supposed reason for the concert cancellation? Apparently, the generator used to heat the stage causes too large of a carbon footprint and the NCC is trying to plan an environmentally friendly Winterlude.
Now, Dish is all about environmental-friendliness, but there is such a thing as going too far. We live in CANADA people! Dish hates to state the obvious, but sometimes it is necessary to run a generator to provide heat in a climate this cold. Dish suspects this is more about money than it is about the environment.
The only question remaining? Where is Kevin Bacon when you need him.
